Fireworks are only allowed to be discharged on Independence Day and New Year's Eve.

Fireworks are only allowed to be discharged on the approved dates and times listed below and only on private property.

Before participating, be sure to check with your housing development or HOA, as additional restrictions may apply.

Please note that the City monitors the South Dakota Grassland Fire Danger Index, published by the National Weather Service. If fire conditions reach a Very High or Extreme rating, fireworks will not be permitted, even on the approved dates and times. If that level is reached, residents will be notified through CodeRED. Regulated times for Independence Day:

July 1, starting at 9 am and ending at 11 pm

July 2, starting at 9 am and ending at 11 pm

July 3, starting at 9 am and ending at 11 pm

July 4, starting at 9 am and ending at 11 pm

Regulated times for New Year's Eve: 

Starting at 9 am on December 31, and ending at 1 am on January 1 am
