The City of Box Elder and the Box Elder Police Department are proud to announce the promotions of four members of the department at the August 18^th  City Council Meeting, recognizing their commitment to serving the Box Elder community.

Corporal Stephanie Baylacq

Officer Stephanie Baylacq has been promoted to the rank of Corporal with the Box Elder Police Department.

Corporal Baylacq is a U.S. Army combat veteran and mother of three who has distinguished herself as a caring officer with a strong emphasis on community engagement and victim advocacy.

Corporal Tom Grove

Officer Tom Grove has been promoted to the rank of Corporal with the Box Elder Police Department.

Corporal Grove has played an instrumental role in field training new officers and providing instruction to department personnel as they complete continuing education requirements.

Sergeant Michael Cristal

Investigator Michael Cristal has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant with the Box Elder Police Department.

Sergeant Cristal brings nearly two decades of law enforcement experience to his new role and will continue to provide valuable knowledge and leadership to the department.

Sergeant Abraham Wheeler

School Resource Officer Abraham Wheeler has also been promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant Wheeler is a retired U.S. Air Force veteran with more than six years of law enforcement experience in the Pennington County area. Throughout his military career, Wheeler excelled in leadership roles, experience that he now brings to his continued service with the Box Elder Police Department.

These well-deserved promotions reflect the dedication, professionalism, leadership, and commitment demonstrated by each officer throughout their careers.

As Chief Connell reflected during the ceremony:

“Tonight is about recognizing how far we have come and, more importantly, recognizing the responsibility we carry as we continue moving forward.

The foundation is being laid. The standard has been set. And the future of the Box Elder Police Department is being built, together, one officer, one decision, and one act of service at a time.”
